Day 103 Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday!

Day 103 Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday!

Birthday season is in full swing and today I attended birthday parties for 3 people! Here's a photo of my oldest nephew who turned 4 on Tuesday with his Tomas the Tank Engine cake that his Nana (my Mum) made for him. He was having a joint party with my Godson Reuben's who's 7th birthday was today and it was also one of my best friends Jodie's birthday!

Happy birthday everyone!

Day 9 D I N O S A you are a dinosaur

These decorate your own dinosaur biscuits were a big hit at the party this weekend. I used a simple gingerbread recipe I found on Mumsnet http://www.mumsnet.com/Recipes/i/1772-Gingerbread-men and let everyone decorate their own cookie with writing icing.

Day 97 Milk & Cookies

Day 97 Milk & Cookies

Refrigerator Cookies

These are the easiest and yummiest cookies, you can make a double batch and freeze half so you can have fresh cookies whenever you want them mmmmmmm. The recipe is from one of my Marks and Spencer cook books called Biscuits & Macaroons.

Day 96 Let The Sun Shine In

Day 96 Let The Sun Shine In

It was a little difficult to take a shot today as it was so sunny. I had to move my beautiful cousin once removed (my cousin's daughter) out of the sun as it was making her squint but I love the composition of this shot.

Day 87 Twinkle, Twinkle

Day 87 Twinkle, Twinkle

I thought I'd try something abstract today as I don't do many abstract shots.

This is a close up of my metal watch strap purposefully very out of focus so that the light reflecting off the strap links shows as ball of light. I then changed the colours slightly to make them richer

Day 86 Home Sweet Home

Day 86 Home Sweet Home

I got home late today so didn't have much time to think about what to do for my photo of the day and used my bookcase as inspiration. Not very exciting I'm afraid but I like the colours

Day 85 The Train is Coming

Day 85 The Train is Coming

I love travelling by train. I probably wouldn't feel the same if I had to do it every day for work but for me a train trip usually means a day trip to London. I like how the lines draw your eye to the lady waiting on the platform

Day 84 Give Me My Coloured Coat

Day 84 Give Me My Coloured Coat

On Saturday I practiced some street photography while out on a Scott Kelby Photography walk round Brighton. It was a good way to practice and I got a few shots. I think this one really sums up the North Laine area in Brighton.

Day 83 Flowers in the Window

Day 83 Flowers in the Window
I was a bit stuck for inspiration for today's photo so decided on a close up of my orchid before it dies (I'm not very good at keep orchids alive long!)

f stop 5.6, shutter speed 1/20

Day 81 Send in the Clowns

Today's photo is a close up shot of my beautiful music box. Unfortunately it no longer works but its still lovely to look at.f stop 8 so the background wasnt thrown out of focus too much and a shutter speed of  1/30

Day 79 Under the Bridge

Day 79 Under the Bridge

I love travelling over this bridge on the London to Brighton line but today I thought I'd have a look at it from a different angle. Its called The Ouse Valley Viaduct and apparently 110 trains pass over it every day!
